Pšenica i jagode / Strawberries and wheat
Veliko hvala svima na ohrabrujućim I divnim komentarima na lanenu priču. Kad vidim takve komentare, nije mi ni malo žao sve muke kroz koju smo prošli dok smo priču priveli kraju.
U međuvremenu, ne sjedim bezveze. Napravila sam nešto novo, što već dosta vremena planiram, ali se uvijek u međuvremenu dogodi – žetva. Ovaj puta me nije prevarilo, otišla sam na vrijeme u žitno polje I nakupila kutiju žita I napravila interesantni ukras za stol ili zid. Nisam htjela napraviti isto što I sa lavandom, nego samo malo drugačije.
I onda, kao da nije bilo prevruće ovih dana, odlučila ja da napravim sve još vruće I da idem napraviti pekmez-marmeladu-džem (nemam uopće pojma koja je točno razlika?) od kile jagoda od koje su ispale cak 4 teglice. Morala sam se suzdržati odmah isprazniti jednu od teglica. Ta me priča uvijek podsjeti na kućno pravilo moje mame (vjerojatno i vaših) da se zimnica ne smijeti dirati i jesti prije nego što padne prvi snijeg. Hmmmmm..... ako ćemo po prošlogišnjoj zimnici, ta bi još uvijek trebala biti u špajzi jer zime i snijega zapravo nije ni bilo.
Danas mi je prevruće i za pekmez, i za tkanje, i za predenje. Sjedim, pišem i znojim se, jer je dan bio kipući sa 33 stupnja, a čini mi se da ni večeras nije puno hladnije.

Thank you all for the encouraging comments on the linen story. Seeing such an overwhelming response I again have to conclude that it was worth all the trouble.
In the meantime, I did not sit still. Instead, I made something that I have never done before. Before the huge machinery gets into the lovely wheat fields and start the harvest, I visited a field and collected some wheat myself. I made interesting table/wall decoration. Instead of doing the same I did with the lavender, I decided to make something just a little bit different.
And, as it was not hot enough last couple of days, I have decided to make it even hotter and made 4 small jars of very tasty strawberry jam. I had to hold back from eating it immediately. This always reminds me of the house rules made by my Mom (and probably many our Mom's) that the preserves should not be eaten until the first snowfall. Hmmm....judging by the last winter, we wouldn't have touched them for few more months since the winter was just snowless and not overly wintery.
Todaz is just much too hot for the jam, for weaving and for spinning. The day was hardly bearable with hot 33 degrees, and it feels that tonight is not much cooler either.
