Slike s izlozbe/Pictures at an exhibition, Budapest, Hungary

Let's have a small break from the linen story, as I want to bring you up-to-date with the latest news and pictures from my last week's Budapest exhibition. It was a challenging space to put up a weaving exhibition, since half of the space is the bookstore, the other half a cafe with gallery walls. My manequins proved to be very useful, and as one of the visitors said: "this exhibition gives a new life to the bookstore, and would be great to keep the exhibits there for the future". Well.... not sure that Treehugger Dan liked to hear that. I did :-)

The opening event was fun with about 30 people coming in and out, looking at the exhibits - scarves, fabrics, lavender hangings, and enjoying the cheese, ham and white wine from Kalnik on a very hot May evening. Lots of friends, lots of other people among them a lady from Arizona with 30 years weaving experience. I am happy with the turnout during the three days, and can conclude that the event was a success. We already discussed to make a second exhibition later in a year, when the weather cools down, and it becomes more appropriate to be wearing more woven and warmer clothes then it was these hot three days in Budapest.

Mala pauza sa pricom o lanu, da vam javim posljednje vijesti i slike s izlozbe u Budimpesti. Prostor za izlozbu je bio poprilicno zahtjevan jer nije bio velik, polovica je knjizara, a drugo pola coffee/galerija. Moje su lutke ispale vrlo korisne, i kako je jedan od posjetitelja primijetio: "izlozba je dala novi zivot knjizari i bilo bi divno kad bi izlosci mogli ostati tamo i u buducnosti". Hmm, nisam sigurna da se vlasniku to dopalo cuti. Meni je :-)
Otvorenje je bilo uspjesno sa oko tridesetak posjetitelja koji su u detalje pregledali izloske - salove, materijale, lavandu, uzivajuci u kalnickom siru, sunki i bijelom vinu u vrucu svibanjsku vecer. Dosta prijatelja, dosta nepoznatih posjetitelja medju kojima se nasla i tkalja iz Arizone sa 30-godisnjim tkalackim iskustvom. Sve u svemum, ja sam vrlo zadovoljna izlozbom i brojem posjetitelja, usprkos isprazenjenom gradu jer je ponedjeljak bio neradni dan. Vec smo dogovorili da potkraj godine organiziramo jos jednu izlozbu, kad zahladi i dodje vrijeme za obacenje toplijih, tkanih i vunenih stvari.
