Lomljeni keper / Plaited twill
U nedjelju ujutro smo otišli u malo planinarenje, a popodne me napokon primila inspiracija za tkanje.
The last weekend was gorgeous. Sunny and hot, a little too warm for this time of the year, but no complains. I had a gardening day on Saturday, bought a couple of herbs and plants for the terrace, and on Sunday morning we went for a small hike nearby our place. IN the afternoon, I have finally had a boost of inspiration for weaving. The temperature was over 20 degrees that day, and I was almost going to take the loom out on the terrace. Finally, I kept it inside, as the warmer days are only coming and there surely will be plenty of time to sit and weave outside. Additionally, my view from the loom is currently falling on the lovely japanese cherry tree which is in full and pinky bloom, which inspired me for the color of the weaving project.
I warped the 8-shaft loom with a thin cotton thread (Croatian made from Dalmatinka Sinj), and after a lot of thoughts finally decided to play with the plaited twill. It has been a while ago, I wanted to try a pattern from the 8-shaft pattern book, and after a bit of struggle, the loom has been warped. For those new to the twills, a plaited twill is the one where opposing diagonal lines seem to be interlacing with each other. I have warped the loom with four threadings with white warp and lilac, pink and ivory weft. Here are just some of the photos of the samples, while the photo of the whole project is coming as soon as I finalize it and cut it off the loom.
