Nedjeljno prelo / Spinning Sunday
Nedjeljno prelo!
Not sure how many of you would remember the grannies stories and how many had the opportunity to experience the long winter evenings spent in the female company, cleaning the feathers for the new pillow cases, warping the weaving looms and discussing the latest Christmas recipes with friends and neighbors. Well, imagine what happens nowadays when you put three women, three spinning wheels, three kilograms of various yarns and table full of pearls, threads and decorations of every make and color. Sunday spinning! On the innitiative of one of the weavers and spinners that has recently attended an advanced spinning course where she learned to make fancy yarns - all those unusual, somewhat crazy and weird wool that everyone dreams of having sometimes, but is difficult to find it in the store, or is just overly expensive - we had a follow up session during which she thought the others. We had a great fun, and I have finally learned to make yarn with beads, threads, leftovers of fabrics, shells, just every piece you planned to throw away but have finally kept hidden away.
My fancy yarn is in the wash, but here are just some photos of what we all did and bring you the atmosphere of the afternoon. It was a brilliant experience, we should surely repeat it again soon.
