Autumn is here, days are shorter, cooler, nicely colored and more autumn like which is the perfect time of the year for spinning and weaving. This was a very productive weaving Saturday, and the plan remains the same for Sunday. The "problem" is that the weather this morning is gorgeous with blue skies, sunny and rather inviting to spent Sunday outside the house, but I surely will weave something small, at least. As I have been rather busy lately and often away and abroad traveling, I had no time left for weaving, but yesterday was a breakthrough day when I had reversed the situation. In a couple of afternoon hours, I have managed to produce three more hats and one lovely pink scarf. One of the hats and the scarf are planned as a present for a friend's three month old baby. I have made it a little bigger, so that the little one can use it for a number of years to come, rather then just the first winter of her life. I am sure everyone will be thrilled about the color I chose, but having had that lovely 60% alpaca, 20% acryl and 20% nylon wool mixed with equally nice pink mixed with some other gentle colors wool, made an interesting combination. The hats are, as usually, made on the Knitters Loom, while the scarf is the product of my Ashford 8-shaft loom which has been having a longer break. I used the straight twill pattern which does not come so obvious on the similar looking colors, but nevertheless produces an interesting and very soft texture.
